So today is the day, and thankfully it's become common place for this day to happen once a year, Modern Warfare 3 has arrived. The Call of Duty franchise has quickly become the best selling franchise of all time, beating NHL, Fifa, Grand Theft Auto, and even Madden, and it is not hard to see why. I've been playing for four hours straight and I have to say, with its unbelievable realism, ease of play, and bone chilling visions of an eventual WWIII, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has become the game to beat.
CoD is broken into two modes of play, both of which I recommend spending a good amount of time on: The first is the campaign mode. Levels (usually 10-15 or so) during which you control one of two main protagonists as the Russian army invades the US, Germany, Brtain, and France (side note, the French are assholes). MW3 has also included a co-op campaign mode so that you and your buddies can take on this battle together. The second mode of play, and clearly the most popular, is the online battles. You fire up the old Xbox Live or Playstation Network, customize your guns, and jump right into battle. Online modes range from Deathmatch, to Domination and Capture the Flag, or even an Every Man for Himself. The online play is addicting, many times I've looked up at the clock and find out that 5 hours has passed and work is 20 mins away from starting.
For any gamer, Modern Warfare 3, and the whole Call of Duty franchise is the pinnacle of War Games. I wasn't in line at Midnight last night, but from what I've heard, there were thousands of Video Game hungry fans ready to plop down $63.47 for the months if not years of entertainment this game will bring. Get out there and get it....good talk see you out there.
